Description
Born in 1957, I've been a professional photographer since 1982.
I got my start in the entertainment world (theater and jazz) where I had the pleasure of photographing
great musicians such as Miles Davis, Archie Shepp, Michel Petrucciani and many others....
I then joined the NAJA press agency (1987 - 1991) based in Marseille (national magazine press).
I then continued my career in various press publications.
Since 2010, my photographic work has focused on nature (landscapes) and, more particularly
particularly birdlife.
"At first, I was a darkroom photographer, at the foot of the stage, ready to immortalize the long tirades of an actor, the breath of a trumpeter or the touch of a pianist. Whether his name was Miles, or Michel, it didn't matter, the pleasure was great for a young image-maker who was learning his trade.
From projectors to the red lantern of an acid-scented laboratory, I bring artists' faces back to life on glossy paper. I spent a few years in artificial light before getting to know life in the open and becoming a news reporter. Reveal, divulge, inform, in search of the pleasure of making known. But the choice of publication is not up to the person gathering the information.
The need to breathe on a new playground takes me to an unknown world, a new passion. As a contemplative, I move forward with hushed steps, blending in with nature as best I can, on the lookout, as an image hunter, observing the life of birds".
I am the author of 3 books (photos, text and layout): in 2011 les Oiseaux de Camargue published by Favre - (192 pages)
Oiseaux entre garrigue et Méditerranée (volume 1- 304 pages) in 2018 and Oiseaux entre garrigue et Méditerranée (volume 2 - 288 pages) in 2020, the latter two published by Editons Ecologistes de l'Euzière.
In 1998 I also produced two booklets on the Junas and Barcelonnette jazz festivals
